Cumbe

Hello, my name is Jose Fernandez and im going to tell you about a place that I love but is in danger. As the demand for natural resources continues to grow, the threat of environmental destruction also increases. Mining activities are a significant contributor to this threat, and unfortunately, many ecosystems are at risk of being destroyed. One such ecosystem that is currently under threat is the beautiful forested hills in Cumbe.

Growing up in the town, the forested hills were a significant part of my childhood. We used to explore the forest, hike up the hills, and have picnics in the place. The forest was not only a source of entertainment and adventure, but it was also home to a diverse range of plants and animals that were an integral part of the ecosystem.

However, the local government has recently approved mining activities in the area, which will have a devastating impact on the forested hills. The mining activities will involve clearing large areas of the forest, digging up the soil and rock, and using chemicals to extract minerals. This will cause severe damage to the ecosystem and disrupt the balance of the forest, leading to a loss of biodiversity.

The forested hills are not only essential for the local ecosystem, but they also play a crucial role in the global climate. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, and the forested hills act as a carbon sink, regulating the planet's climate. The destruction of the forested hills will release vast amounts of carbon into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming and climate change.

The loss of the forested hills will be a significant blow to the community, as it is an essential part of the town's identity and heritage. Moreover, the mining activities will cause pollution, noise, and dust, which will have negative impacts on the health and well-being of the local community.

It is imperative that we take action to protect ecosystems like the forested hills of Cumbe from mining activities. We must find alternative solutions that do not involve destroying our natural heritage and compromising the health of our communities. As a society, we need to make responsible decisions about resource extraction and prioritize the protection of the environment for the benefit of current and future generations.
